Mother's Day, Lj's Birthday, and The Onion Festival

The past weekend was busy, yet exciting. Alexis attended her first parade. She loved the clowns more than anything. I am glad that I was with her when she saw her first parade. All of her firsts are such a joy to be a part of. After the parade, Michele and I took her kids to the festival. It is always nice to see people you haven't seen in a while.

After the festival, we all went to LJ's for his birthday celebration. It is hard to imagine that my baby is 24 years old. It seems like only yesterday that he was born. Time is going by so fast. I am so proud of him. He is a good daddy to Alexis and soon he will have a little man of his own.

Mother's Day was amazing. We all went to church together Sunday morning (except for Jen) and then we all went to grandmas for lunch. The memories we made will last us a lifetime. I am thankful for everyday that I get to spend with my children and grandchildren. God has blessed me in so many ways. I try to remember to be thankful for what God has given me and what he has done for me.

As thing are winding down......

The semester at AASU is slowly coming to an end, which I am thrilled. Today was a much anticipated day for me because I was to find out if I passed the GACE test for educators.....well I passed. I honestly didn't feel assured that I passed so today was a shock for me. I am so thankful to God for giving me the knowledge and ability to do well on the test. I am reminded daily of his faithfulness. I do give Jesus Christ all the glory for helping to get past this hurdle. His faithfulness is ever present.

Excited about a grandson

We found out yesterday that we are having a grandson in September. I am absolutely thrilled. How blessed can one person be? We have a granddaughter and will soon have a grandson also. I sit and reflect about all that God has done for us and blessed us with. I am thankful for so many things. Thinking of a new baby always brings excitement into one's life. Our little man will be named after his granddad and his daddy. They are naming him James Ray Holloway, III. The plan is to call him Trey. I am sure you are wondering where Trey comes from, well it is for the third. LJ has always wanted to name his first son after him so he will get his wish. I am not sure if there is going to be anymore babies for LJ and Ashley, but either way we are so proud of them and love our sweeties.

Life, it is so wonderful

Tomorrow is the big day for us. We find out if we are having another granddaughter or having our first grandson. Either way, we will be blessed. I can only imagine the joy that another grandchild will bring us. We have so much to be thankful for. I will update after the appointment tomorrow to let everyone know if our next blessing is a boy or a girl!!!

Easter 2010

Today was an extra special day for many reasons. Today was Lexie's first Easter. Her dad seemed to think that Mimi was a little crazy for hiding eggs for a 6month old, but I think she enjoyed it (at least Mimi and PopPop enjoyed it). She liked all of it as long as her hands or feet didn't touch the grass. She isn't crazy about that at all.

We went to church this morning and then to Grandma's for lunch. It was nice to have some family time and just relax. After dinner, some of us went to Hinesville to catch a movie. Jennifer A. and I watched The Last Song. It was a great movie but it was a tear jerker, especially for two people who lost their dads in the last year. Which brings me to my next point:..... this was our first Easter without my daddy. I miss him dearly. I can't begin to tell you how often he is in my heart and thoughts. Time is supposed to heal this hurt but it isn't doing the job. I miss you daddy and I know your First Easter in Heaven was perfect.
As the day comes to a close, I am reminded of all of my blessings in life. I am thankful for all of my family and friends. I am most thankful for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Without him I am nothing. Thank you Jesus for saving my soul!!!!

Being a Mimi

I have always heard that being a grandparent was absolutely wonderful but I didn't fully understand this thought. Now, after spending time with Alexis, I fully understand. It is the most wonderful time in my life. Don't get me wrong, I love my children! But grandchildren take love to a whole new level. There is something about their presence that will light up your entire life. I am thankful that our granddaughter lives only about four miles away! And her brother/sister will be here soon, which will make life even more exciting. I am so blessed to be able to enjoy her thoughout the week. Thank you Lord for your blessings on me!!

About Me!

Hello everyone! I am new to blogging but love to write about my thoughts. I am married to the greatest man ever, James. We have been married for 24 years now. We have three wonderful children: LJ, Joseph, and Jennifer. We have a daughter-in-law, Ashley. We also have a future daughter-in-law, Jennifer. We are so very blessed to have the most perfect little granddaughter, Alexis. She is the absolute light of our lives. She is almost 6months old now. Her mommy if pregnant with her little brother or sister, so we have more blessings on the way!!

I absolutely love dogs! I have six of them at the present time. They are a handful but they are so precious. Life without them would be boring for sure!

I am a fulltime student at AASU. I hope to graduate next year...with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I hope to teach any grade from the 1st to the 5th grade. Teaching has always been a dream of mine, and although I have started on it a little late in life, I am determined to complete it.

God has blessed me in life and I owe my very being to him. I am thankful for his precious son that gave his life on calvary to save a wretch like me. I am not perfect, but I am striving to be a better person and to be more like Christ.
